Frequently Asked Questions

How The Solution Works

It depends on the capacity in kWh, but it can run essential loads like lights, fridge and Wi Fi for several hours or even a day, depending on usage.

Yes, it automatically switches on when the grid goes down, keeping your home powered.

Yes. It works seamlessly with electric vehicles and can operate on its own or alongside solar and a generator, maximizing savings and delivering greater energy independence from the grid.

Typically 8 to 15 years, depending on brand, usage cycles and maintenance conditions.

Pricing varies based on capacity and system setup. Smaller systems are more affordable, while larger ones cost more for higher autonomy.

Installation usually takes one day. Permits and approvals may take longer, depending on local regulations.

After you place your order and submit your electricity bill, Eos will schedule a site assessment.

Using the site survey, the Eos design team will evaluate your home’s electrical system and identify any required upgrades. These will be clearly included in your proposal for review and approval before moving forward.

To help ensure a smooth and efficient installation, please clear ground areas, wall space, and all key access points so installers can work without delays.

After Installation

You will get access to our app so you can see your solution at work, monitor your Battery Storage and home energy usage.

The app offers an all-in-one experience for you to manage your energy from anywhere and at any time.
From energy data to charge stats.

During an Outage

During an outage, the battery solution discharges its stored energy to provide power to your home. Power outages are unpredictable and can last for hours or even days at a time.

The amount of time that your storaged energy can last will be the result of how much capacity did you choose for your solution and how much energy do you keep using during the outage.

When a power outage does occur, your battery instantly disconnects from the grid and restores backup power to your home in a fraction of a second, over one hundred times faster than typical standby generators. This means your appliances keep running without interruption, and there’s no need to reset your clocks. You may not even notice when an outage occurs.

Yes, with our solution you can connect your car and use the energy capacity stored in it as additional energy to power your home.

If you have solar, your battery can recharge from your solar system to run your home from solar and the battery itself even when the grid is down. A traditional solar system without our solution does not function during a grid outage.

If more solar energy is produced than can be used or stored during an outage, it will be discarded or sent to the energy grid.  Once Powerwall can accept power again, your solar inverter will be signaled to turn back on.
